Netflix is planning an animated series based on Minecraft. The streamer’s decision comes just after the best-selling video game completed 15 years.

In the teaser, a green Creeper character from the game movies rushes through a black screen before exploding into a grey cloud. The official statement from the makers says, “It just happened: the best-selling game of all time and the world’s biggest streamer are teaming up to bring you an all-new Minecraft Netflix animated series.”
While more details about the series are awaited, Netflix has said the show will feature a new story with new characters. A Minecraft movie with Jack Black’s character Steve is set to hit theaters next April.
