A song for Eresha, a film based on Indian classical dance, is fully prepared for a dramatic release

Bharatanatyam artist Savitha Sashtri and director AK Srikanth’s film, A song for Eresha, The United States, and Canada (in August and later in India) is ready for a dramatic and OTT release. With a story storytelling, the classical Indian dance dullly combining, Savita says that Indian classical arts are a cinematic tribute to the expressive power of arts.

The film follows Aresha’s complex emotional journey, a revered head of a prestigious art institute, in which unexpected romantic entangles lead to a dramatic uncontrolled of the institution that she made and her own inner world. Characteristics of Savita Shastri in the title role, the film mainly consists of female artists with 100 classical dancers from all over India. The film also stated in the lead roles with Mekha Rajan and Arshi Laxman at the beginning of Bengali actor Mayurakshi Sen.

The film is also written by Srikanth, who has been praised for its earlier works – Slow rivers (Florence Film Awards 2023) color white (New York International Film Awards 2021). “The film is an exploration as to what it means to be human. It catches the full spectrum of emotion: the joy, the sting of the triumph, and the delicate balance between light and darkness, logic and emotion. I imagined it as visual poetry, brought to life by an influential artists and crews,” Director.

Savitha depicted three different stages of Nayak’s journey. “Each demands a different perspective. The dance sequences serve as a sense of internal conflicts and victory, providing a physical and emotional structure to the story,” Savitha explains.

The Soundtrack Abhay Nympali, a Grammy-Nominated Karnataka guitarist and a protoz of the legendary mandolin U Srinivas. Construction at Abhay’s associate work with global artists such as Spayo Gayer’s Tom Shuman, the film’s score includes the effects of many styles – Carnatic classical, western, classical and middle eastern music. Abhay says, “Movies with such nuances rarely come and therefore becomes an emotionally attractive experience to treat it. Good writing and execution music makes the process of scoring music more satisfactory,” Abhay says.

A song for Iresh Not only is it about advancing the boundaries of Bharatanatyam, but a step towards re -starting traditional Indian art forms for global audiences. Srikanth says, “This film is also my tribute to the legend that has defined my love for cinema and literature – Satyajit Ray. From a young age I found my cinematic story my inspiration,” most of whose films are based on classical Indian arts. The film, which recently had an intimate screening at Art Centric Space, New Delhi, is preparing for its international release.
