Aamir Ali, who parted ways with Sanjeeda Sheikh in 2021, in a recent interview reacted to his ex-wife’s comment about losing friends post divorce. Galata India. The Looters The actor said that he hasn’t read Sanjeeda’s comment. However, he added that he would never share minutiae of his personal life in public. Speaking to Galatta India, Aamir Ali said, “I don’t know what she said and why. Best of luck to her and whatever she is doing in life. If you feel someone is stopping you from moving ahead and progressing in life, then go ahead… do what you want to do in life. Who am I to comment? I may not have always been this understanding, we all grow up with time.”
He said, “People will think what they want to think. I don’t want to say nasty things in public. Whatever has happened and people are talking about it is between us. If we address it in public, it will be talked about. People will talk anyway, so let them talk. It doesn’t matter. People who know me, they matter to me. And I think people are quite understanding. They can understand the atmosphere. They ultimately understand the situation. I don’t try, I am real.”
When asked to share some thoughts about becoming a father, Aamir Ali replied, “I don’t want to talk about it as it is a very sensitive thing. I don’t want to say and feel things that will later hurt me or anyone else. I wish my ex-wife and everyone else all the best in life.”
For reference, during the promotions of Heeramandi, Sanjeeda Sheikh told Galta India, “There are people who are no longer my friends. I should just send them love because they are no longer in my life because I am better off without them. I am so happy now. These are life experiences that teach you. You don’t need so many people. What they did to me was good.”
In an earlier interview with Hauterfly, Sanjeeda spoke about the importance of breaking up with people who have a negative influence on one’s life. She said, “There are some men and some partners who try to discourage you, who tell you that you can’t do something. Or they will say that you won’t be able to do it. It is better to stay away from such people. In every relationship, there are phases when you are happy, and then there are some when you are not happy, and then you make a decision for your life and that is what I did for myself, because I started loving myself and I started prioritising myself and that is very, very important.”
Aamir Ali and Sanjeeda Sheikh got married in 2012. Their daughter Ayra was born via surrogacy in 2018. They separated in 2020 and finally got divorced in 2021.
