Abhishek Banerjee: ‘Stolen’ is the answer to India’s raw, style-powered cinema

On Wednesday, the makers of “Chori” unveiled the entertaining trailer of the upcoming film “Stann”, which actor Abhishek Banerjee says that India’s raw and style-run-operated film production is the answer.

Talking about the film, actor Abhishek said, “Theft ‘is the answer to India’s raw, styled filmmaking. The day I heard the story, I knew that I wanted to live on the driver’s seat-like my character, Gautam, our director Karan Tejal, is one of the most exciting minds.

“Our producer, Gaurav Dhingra, are emotional for the core about good filmmaking – we need more people like him in the industry.”

The trailer for “theft” opens with a heartbreaking moment because a child is stripped of his mother, Jhampa’s arms, played by Mia Maller, as she sleeps at a desolate railway station. Thus, there is a tireless discovery, as the brothers Raman and Gautam, played by Shubam Vardhan and Abhishek Banerjee respectively, join Jhumpa as they navigate the treacherous area while hunting for the missing child.


In remote areas of India, deep, hostile locals endanger their lives, their discovery develops in a desperate battle for existence.

Directed by Karan Tejpal and written by Tejpal written with Rupana and Swapnil Sulkar – there are also Harish Khanna, Mia Malzer, Sahidur Rahman and Shubam Vardhan in Agadabamb, theft.

Stolen is a jungle book studio production, directed by executive producers Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani, Vikramaditya Motwen, Karan Tejpal and produced by Gaurav Dhingra.

He said: “On the surface, stolen comes out as a taut action thriller – but its emotional effect is made quietly, it becomes dull for a long time after the last frame. A Stark, set against the rugged landscape, the film is brought into life by powerful performances from Abhishek, Mia and Shubam.

“The journey so far has been incredibly rewarded, with a heavy response from international festivals, which has been both humble and inspiring. Anurag Kashyap, Kiran Rao, Nikkhil Advani and Vikramaditya Motavane have only strengthened my creative confidence.”

Actor Mia Maller said that as an actor, “theft” has been an intensive journey for him.

“Karan Tejpal’s vision and sensitivity as a director created a place where authenticity can actually thrive, guide us to bring out rawness and depth. The story has been sought. Painting the slum means that a challenge in a character with complexity and emotional depth, a challenge, a challenge that pushed my border.

“When I first read the stolen script, I could not shake it.” Actor Shubam Vardhan said.
