‘Ace’ Movie Review: Vijay Sethupathi, Yogi Babu cannot save this middle-made comedy-thriller

Imagine an ordinary person, poor, lonely and single, innocent about situations. What if I can fly to a foreign country, preferably with a big Tamil migrant, like Malaysia, and meet a surprisingly grand woman, such as from the actress Sapta Sogardache AloeThis will be a boomer if our paths do not cross often, and so what if she lives in front of my house and we take the same train to reach our day’s jobs? Also, what if he needs a lot of money, and I become a prince with divine luck in poker, or say, a bank robs? After all, this is a dream, so I have to decide how much my story can be. How is this a story of a large extent Ace Tired.

If convenient writing is a poker game, Ace There is a royal flush. Nevertheless, despite a ridiculous story, it is a surprisingly entertaining film for a point (the trailer is far better than what the suggestion made). Four things work well in its favor. First, it offers Yogi Babu in his comedic best. As Arivukrasana, the actor is riotous throughout the film, and nine out of 10 jokes are land with an error time. This is followed by the major romantic pair, Vijay Sethupathi and Rukmini Vasant, who are cute as ‘Bolt’ Kannan and Rukmini. They attract their own way with the smallest manifestations through the film – see how hesitated Vijay Grens when Rukmini first waves her from her balcony – and somehow forgives you with lazy writing. In fact, his playful banquet in the song ‘Urugudhu Urududhu’ makes you a Rome-Com.

Talking about songs, Justin Prabhakaran’s music plays an important role in increasing the mood of the film. He sticks to his assignment, and the background score feels its presence without paying much attention. Finally, writer-director Arumugkumar sometimes shows nature in visual writing, and a neck for suspense that can be used in a better film.

Although all of this protects the film until the midnight, they fail to keep a material so thin, and sometimes, even tedious. Interesting ideas are introduced without much follow -up, such as the top level poker skills of the Kannan. Arivu’s employment as a sanitation worker, restaurant is the owner of his friend and well -wishers, Kalpana (Divya Pillai), or Dharma (drug cartel run by BS Avinash, as a kingpin, which implicates Kannan and Arivu in a huge debt), all settings, but no role to play in big plans. About Rajadurai (Bablu Prithviraj; Rukmini’s unpleasant stepfather and police officer), a sub-story takes so much space to blackmail a young girl with her sex tape, only to become uniquely unnecessary.

When the film tries to become a suspected heest thriller, everything takes on track. In fact, Ace There is all the necessary materials to be a good romantic curse, but it never gets its tone. A serious thriller with an innovative heir is one thing, and an out-and-out comedy where the plan goes on to be cheerful is another. Ace Not there. Its flaws are clear in two central action scenes. One occurs when Kannan and Arivu are followed by men of Durai, while the other is a wide escape plan. You either do everything silly yogi babu or do, or you remember him, whenever Aumugkumar tries to combine a combination Mission: impossible From thin air.
