Actor Martin Mull dies at the age of 80, daughter Maggie pays emotional tribute

Actor-comedian Martin Mull, best known for his roles on shows like “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” and “Roseanne,” has died at the age of 80. On her Instagram account on Saturday, Martin’s daughter Maggie Mull revealed that her father died at home on June 27 after battling a long illness.

“I am so sad to share that my father passed away at home on June 27th. He bravely battled a long illness. He was known for excellence in every creative field and even starred in commercials for Red Roof Inn. He thought that joke was funny. He was never not funny,” Maggie wrote in her post.

In her emotional tribute, Maggie Mull said: “My father will be greatly missed by his wife and daughter, his friends and colleagues, fellow actors, comedians and musicians and his many dogs, because he was an extraordinary person. I loved him very much.”

Martin Mull’s fans and co-stars paid tribute to him in the comments section of Maggie Mull’s post. Schitt’s Creek actor Dan Levy wrote, “Sending you lots of love. He was the greatest.” Sarah Levy added, “Sending lots of love.”

Martin Mull’s career spanned decades, starting with his breakout roles in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and Fernwood 2 Night. He later became a household name with roles in Clue, Roseanne and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, where he played Principal Willard Craft.

His versatility extended to Arrested Development, where he played Detective Gene Parmesan, and he made memorable guest appearances on shows like The Simpsons, Family Guy, and The Golden Girls.
