New Delhi: Popular Telugu actor and politician Nandamuri Balakrishna is facing severe criticism online after a video surfaced in which he is seen pushing actress Anjali on stage at the programme ‘Gangs of Godavari’. The film also stars Neha Shetty and Vishwak Sen.
The actor was seen pushing Anjali as she was unable to listen to him. Co-star Neha was clearly shocked by his gesture and the video later went viral on social media.

Balakrishna’s behaviour was appalling and the reaction of the junior artiste was understandable as he laughed it off, but the most horrifying part of this video was the crowd’s reaction to this apparent incident of assault, with the crowd cheering and hooting in support.

The video also shows that it is not clear what Balakrishna said to Anjali before the shocking incident and she laughed it off. However, netizens seem to be angry with Balakrishna and are calling him out for being ‘disrespectful’ towards women.
One user commented, “It’s crazy that so many people give her a free pass by saying things like ‘It’s just Balayya’.” Another said, “This kind of treatment of a talented actress is unacceptable.”
On the work front, Balakrishna is making headlines for his big hits like ‘Akhanda’ and is planning to join hands with director Boyapati Srinu for ‘Akhanda 2’. Anjali, on the other hand, is famous for her roles in popular Tamil and Telugu films such as
Angadi Theru, Engaeyum Eppothum, Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu and Geetanjali are set to star in the upcoming film Gangs of Godavari, which will hit the theatres on May 31, 2024.
