Actor Pradeep K. Vijayan was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his house in Palavakkam on June 13, 2024, police said.
The 39-year-old actor was best known for his roles in films Thegidi, Meyadha Maan, Teddy (2021), Irumbu Thirai (2018) And Rudran (2023).
The police said he was unmarried and lived alone in his house at Sankarapuram in Palavakkam. He frequently complained of dizziness and breathlessness and had sought treatment for the condition.
According to the police, on Wednesday (June 12) at 9.30 am, his friend tried to call him but there was no response. After this, some of his friends called him repeatedly but the calls were not answered. One of them got suspicious and decided to knock on his door. The door was locked from inside.
They then informed the Neelangarai police and a sub-inspector of police rushed to the spot. With the help of fire and rescue service personnel, the door was broken and Mr Vijayan was found dead in the bathroom. He had injuries on his head and face, police said.
The police have taken the body into custody and sent it to the Royapettah Government Hospital for post-mortem. The Neelankarai police have registered a case of unnatural death and are continuing the investigation. The police said that initial investigation has revealed that it is a case of accidental fall.
