Mumbai: Actor Ritwik Sahore, who plays Shantanu Bansal in the youth aspirational drama series “Jamunapaar”, said the show made him realise that he could never become a CA (chartered accountant).
The series is based on the life of Shantanu, who hails from East Delhi and finds himself torn between his roots in Jamnapar and the ambition of a successful corporate career in South Delhi.
Discussing his preparation to play the role of an aspiring CA student, Ritwik said: “Fortunately, I have grown up with a few CA friends. Also, the writers of the show were also CA aspirants at one point of time and hail from Jamunapar. So, their valuable insights really helped me understand the mindset of a CA student and portray the character authentically on screen. Funny thing is, it also made me realise that I could never become a CA in real life.
Having said that, I am very grateful to have experienced the CA life through Shantanu.” The show also stars Raghu Ram, Varun Badola, Srishti Ganguly Rindani and Ankita Saigal in pivotal roles. Ritwik also shared details about his character saying, “Shanky (Shantanu) is a typical teenager with a know-it-all attitude and a hatred for others’ opinions. Despite his father’s wishes for him to pursue a certain career path, Shanky, an extremely intelligent student, is determined to follow his aspirations.
He is extremely driven by his ambitions and has full faith in his abilities. Shanky is someone who can go to any lengths to turn his dreams into reality.”
‘Jamnapaar’ streams on Amazon MiniTV.
