Tamil actor Vishal expressed his condolences to the family of Stuntman Mohanraj on Sunday (July 13), who died tragically while performing a stunt sequence during the shooting of the upcoming film of director Pa Ranjith. WettuvamAn official statement has not yet been issued to the manufacturers.
Taking his X handle, Vishal expressed his condolences, called Mohanraj a “brave” person.
Popular stunt choreographer Silva also expressed his condolences to the family of the deceased. He said, “Our great car jumping stunt artist, one of SM Raju, died today while doing car stunts. Our stunt union and Indian film industry are missing him (SIC),” he wrote on the instagram.

52 -year -old Mohanraj, son of Selvaraj, came from Pongandam in Kanchipuram district. He was working as a stunt coordinator for the film Wettuvam, Pa directed and manufactured by Pa Ranjith. Since Thursday (July 10, 2025), shooting was going on at Alappakudi near Vizhunwadi village in the border of Kailaiyur police station.
The stunt trainer allegedly died during a car-topping sequence for a film starring Arya. Around 10.40 am, Mohanraj allegedly experienced health complications during filming, after which he was taken to Government Medical College Hospital in Orathaur, where doctors killed him.
Ranjith Wettuvam Arya acted in the lead. According to reports, the film also includes Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashok Selvan and Dinesh. Earlier, Ranjith told PTI His film revolves around a notorious gangster, Choln, a modern-day Robin Hood, which establishes its control over the Tamil Nadu region. As he fights to protect his people, he creates many enemies, but also to the veterans of supporters who swear on him. When his rivals find out that Chola is very powerful for him, they use the state power in an attempt to bring him down.
“The film is the story of an increase in the state of power of a simple daily wage laborer,” says Ranjith. The filmmaker revealed, “The deep question is that ‘Vetuvam’ will address the hinges on power and historically on those who eradicate power, they end the spirit of inferiority and push people to margins.” According to news reports, the project is also said to be the sequel to a series in development.
It should be noted that earlier this year, a stunt artist died on the set of actor Karthi’s film. Sardar 254 -year -old S Edgehumalai, resident of New Washamanpet, was performing a stunt without any security equipment for the Tamil film at LV Prasad Studio in Chennai when the tragedy took place. The film, which re -explains Karthi with director PS Mithran after the success of Sardar, is produced by Prince Pictures.
