The arrest of Kannada star Darshan in a murder case has shaken the film industry. Reacting to the controversy, famous Kannada actor Ramya said that “no one is above the law.”

The actor-politician took to his Instagram account to talk about the incident. He wrote on his Instagram story, “No one is above the law. No one should take the law into their own hands. You don’t go around beating or hitting people. A simple complaint will be enough, whether you think justice will be served or not.”
Controversial star Darshan and 12 other accused in the murder case of Renukaswamy of Chitradurga district were sent to six-day police custody on June 11, 2024. It is alleged that Renukaswamy, who works in a pharmacy, sent obscene messages to Darshan’s partner Pavithra Gowda, which upset the Sandalwood star.

Ramya further wrote, “The block option is given on social media for a reason. If the trolling continues, you should file a complaint. He has continuously trolled me using abusive language. Not only me, he has trolled other actors as well. He has not even spared his wife and children. What a sad society we live in!
“I have filed cases like any law abiding citizen should do. I have even withdrawn cases on grounds of sympathy after the trolls were warned by the police several times. I have also considered the fact that these people are young and have a bright future and they are ruining their lives by trolling using anonymous handles.”

The actress appreciated the efforts of the police officers in the ongoing case. She wrote, “A word of appreciation and respect for the police officers discharging their duties. It is a thankless job. And they are doing their best. I really hope they don’t succumb to the pressure of political parties and restore people’s faith in law and justice.”
