Days after a viral post congratulating Adil Hussain instead of Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikek for his Olympic win, the actor shared similarities with the star sportsperson in an interview. Hindustan Times. When asked if he sees any similarity between himself and the athlete, Adil said, “Not at all. I don’t think there is any similarity except for the white hair and the glasses frame”. For those who don’t know, a post was shared on X that featured a collage of Adil Hussain and Yusuf Dikek. The caption with the collage read, “Congratulations Sir @_AdilHussain on winning silver for Turkey at Olympics 2024.” Adil Hussain responded to the post in his unique witty style. Re-sharing the tweet, he wrote, “I wish it was true… maybe it’s not too late to start practising… since I have a skill set to work on now..”

Reports spread on social media that a fan mistook Adil Hussain for Turkish shooter Yusuf Dikek. However, refuting speculations about mistaken identity, Adil Hussain told Hindustan Times, “I don’t think the tweet was due to any misunderstanding. It was a deliberate act. It was done in jest, so I was not surprised to see it.” He further added, “The tweet was done in a light-hearted manner, and I took it in a sporting spirit. It was really funny.”
