Prominent filmmaker Pritish Nandy died of a heart attack at his south Mumbai residence on Wednesday at the age of 73.
Pritish Nandy was the producer of many successful films like JHunkar Beats, Chameli, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, Ek Khiladi Ek Hasina, Ankahi, Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Bo Barracks Foreveramong many others.
On Wednesday, his friend, veteran actor Anupam Kher, shared the devastating news with a long heartfelt post on his Instagram.
The actor wrote, “Deeply saddened and shocked to learn about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends #PritishNandi!”
calling them “brave” height The actor also recalled how Sri Nandy was there for him during his early days in the city.
“A wonderful poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor/journalist! He was my support system and a great source of strength in my early days in Mumbai. We had a lot of things in common. He was one of the most fearless people The people I’ve met have always been larger than life.”
“I learned a lot of things from him. Lately we haven’t met much. But there was a time when we were inseparable! I will never forget when he surprised me by putting me on the cover of Filmfare and more importantly # TheIllustatedWelky,” the post continued.
Calling him a friend of a friend, the post concluded, “He was the true definition of friend of friendsI will miss you and the times we spent together, my friend. rest well. #heartbroken.”

Veteran journalist Dibang paid his tribute to Mr Nandy, saying, “He revamped the Illustrated Weekly and made it one of the most influential magazines of its time. Sometimes, he took me to meet some of the most powerful politicians. Used to go.”

Pritish Nandy, born on January 15, 1951 in Bhagalpur, Bihar, was a journalist and also a famous media personality. In the 1990s he hosted a talk show on Doordarshan pritish nandi show,
He also served as a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1998 to 2004, representing the Shiv Sena party.
