The group has 4 Grammy Awards to its name and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

Aerosmith announces retirement from touring
Aerosmith announced that they would no longer continue touring due to Tyler’s larynx injury, which he suffered last year. The announcement was made through a statement shared by the band on August 8, 2024. They wrote, “It was 1970 when a spark of inspiration became Aerosmith. Thanks to you, our Blue Army, that spark caught fire and has burned for more than five decades. Some of you have been with us since the very beginning and because of you all we made rock ‘n’ roll history,” as reported by Page Six.
Tyler broke his larynx in 2023, forcing him to put his Peace Out farewell tour on hold, with the lead singer seemingly never fully recovering from the injury.
The statement explained Tyler’s struggles following his injury, “As you know, Steven has a voice like no other. He has worked tirelessly for many months to get his voice back to the level it was before his injury. We have watched him struggle alongside the best medical team.”

Tyler will never recover from his injury
Unfortunately, the band said Tyler will not be able to fully recover from his injury. Therefore the band has made “a heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary decision – as a band of brothers – to retire from the touring stage.” Following the heartbreaking announcement, the band expressed gratitude to their fans and supporters who have been with them through it all.
The band was “so grateful” to everyone who bought tickets and looked forward to “putting on a show with our expert crew, our incredible team and the thousands of talented people who made our historic performances possible.” They ended the statement by declaring their fans “the best fans on planet Earth.”
