K-pop girl group aespa is set to make a comeback with their album Armageddon. Known as the powerhouse of K-pop, aespa’s voice has helped them reach K-pop legend status internationally. The girls recently appeared during the album showcase, where they were interviewed by a group of reporters. The reporters did not hold back when questioning them about the comments made by HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk in a leaked chat with ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin. Winter and Karina’s reactions have since gone viral.

The ongoing dispute between HYBE and its subsidiary ADOR has not only involved BTS and NewJeans in a controversial agency conflict but also dragged in aespa, which is under SM Entertainment. aespa’s rising prominence has posed a challenge for HYBE’s girl group, which may explain why, in an alleged leaked conversation with Min Hee Jin, Bang Si Hyuk was seen referring to aespa while asking if she could “crush them”. During the interview, reporters asked if the recent controversy has increased the pressure on the group as they prepare for their comeback.
“Bang Si Hyuk: You can crush Aespa, right? Heh.
Min Hee Jin: Hahaha.
Bang Si Hyuk: Hahaha. Then I’ll leave it to you (emoji). When shall we have a drink?”
Kareena responded, “We are aware of the matter. Since this is our first full-length album, we put our full effort in practice. We got strength from the support and love [we received] And worked hard for it. I think it will be a satisfying start with this first full-length album, so I am grateful to the public as well as our SM family and the members who have worked hard.”

Faced with controversy, Aespa’s Winter acknowledged the buzz with a playful smile and covering her face with her hand. Despite the drama, she spoke positively, hinting that the situation could actually boost the success of their upcoming album! “Instead of thinking about it, I just took it as a sign that our album will do well,” she said.
During the interview, Kareena was also asked about her relationship with the newsies managed by ADOR. The group was asked how they greet each other when they meet at shows or award ceremonies. Kareena responded with positivity, saying that they get along well as colleagues. “There is nothing to worry about, we get along well with our colleagues.”
