aespa’s Karina has been vying for the top spot in the girl group member brand reputation rankings for several months, and the stunning IT girl finally achieved the feat in July 2024. Overtaking consistently top-ranked female K-pop idol IVE’s Wonyoung, who has dominated several monthly charts, Karina’s brand reputation reached impressive heights, seeing her score increase by 157.78% since June.
According to the Korean Business Research Institute’s monthly analysis, the aespa leader received a total score index of 7,210,532 this month, which calculates the cumulative result of artists’ consumer engagement, media coverage, communication, and community awareness. The high-ranking phrases in their keyword analysis were “supernova,” “concert,” and “waterbomb.” Other words she was closely associated with were “lovely,” “hip,” and “lovable,” as they garnered 89.49% of positive responses.
Espa tops July rankings
She was ranked third in June. Data collected for 675 girl group members from June 21 to July 21 saw all four of aespa’s members – Karina, Winter, Ningning and Giselle – rank highly, making it into the top 12. The SM Entertainment music act also topped this month’s girl group brand reputation ranking, while I.V.E followed them in second place on the chart.

Other girl group members in the top 5
Although IVE’s Wonyoung, who topped the June chart, slipped to second place in July, her brand reputation index of 6,477,437 saw a 12.42% increase compared to the previous month. Other members of her group ranking on the chart in July were An Yujin and Rie. While the former was at #4 with a score of 3,306,874, the latter was at #15.
Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon surpassed her #8 ranking from June and rose to 3rd place with a score of 4,447,210. TWICE’s Naeyeon rounded out the top 5 girl group members of the month with a score of 3,102,035. She was nowhere to be seen on June’s top 30 chart.
BLACKPINK members slipped down
On the other hand, Blackpink’s Jennie, who was ranked 5th in June, dropped to 19th. Jisoo, the first of the quartet to rise, ranked 13th. Meanwhile, Rose and Lisa ranked 18th and 27th.
