New Delhi:
Riya Chakraborty recorded her first public presence after filing a closure report on 22 March 2025, nearly five years after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The report concluded that her death was an “suicide” and cleans the actress and family of all the allegations.
In a viral video, Riya can be seen visiting the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai with her family. While interacting with Paprazi, he can be heard saying, “Ganapati Bappa Morya.”
After receiving a clean chit to the actress, Riya made her first Instagram post.
The actress shared several photos with her appearance on the reality show Roadies Double XX, where she wore a brown leather dress and posed with fellow team leaders Ranvijay Singha, Neha Dhupia and Elvish Yadav. Read in the caption, “Vote to see> = Vote out.”
Internet user posts were early to notice their choice of background music for posts – satisfied by catching flies.
Riya’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, on Saturday issued a statement thanking the CBI for her intensive investigation. He said that due to false narratives spread on social media and electronic media, his client faced “untold grief”, resulting in he spent 27 days in jail. “He had no fault.”
The findings of the CBI have been presented in a special court in Mumbai, which will decide whether to accept the report or order further investigation. The report named two FIRs filed in the case, including Riya, her parents and her brothers.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on 14 June 2020. He was 34 years old. The CBI took the investigation with the Bihar Police, when the actor’s father filed a complaint in Patna, accused of committing suicide. During its investigation, the CBI recorded the statements of the actor of Riya and others and collected their medical records.
Forensic experts at AIIMS gave CBI a decisive Medico-legal opinion, dismissing claims of “poisoning and strangulation” in the case.
