After handling nine cities across India, the first glimpse of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana is now illuminated the prestigious Times Square in New York City, a global milestone for Indian cinema. The larger life scenes of the epic were set 5,000 years ago and were revered by the Arabs, fascinating the crowd with a breathtaking audio-visual spectacle in Manhattan’s heart.
Estimated on the Towering Digital Screen of Times Square, the teaser thrilled the audience with vibrant colors, complex VFX and cinematic grandeur. The monumental moment reinforced the Ramayana not only as a film, but as a cultural heritage for the World Forum.
The epic saga includes Ranbir Kapoor Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Laxman. Produced by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Yash’s Monster Mind Creations and Global VFX veteran DNEG, the film is being postponed as one of the most ambitious projects made in Indian cinema.
Expressing his views about Magnum Ops, Tiwari said, “Ramayana” is a story with which we all have grown up. It bears the soul of our culture. Our aim was to honor that soul – and presenting it with a cinematic scale is really worthy. It is a very important responsibility and it is not a very good film.

Adding to the global stature of the film is an unprecedented cooperation between Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman, who come together to create a soul-series in a time-in-gear soundtrack. Designed for IMAX, the project promises a comprehensive cinematic experience that transfers time, geography and language.
Diwali with its first chapter to release during 2026 and the second part in Diwali 2027, Ramayana is being deployed as a global event film, which is timeless in the essence, yet modern in execution.
