Director Chidambaram’s next film, known for her blockbuster Malayalam film ‘Manjmel Boys’, is titled ‘Balan’.
The film went on the floor with a traditional puja in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.
Sources close to the unit told IANS that the first phase of filming, which started on Sunday, was about to leave for the next five days.
The film, which is being produced by KVN Productions, has created a huge interest, led by Venkat’s Narayan, in collaboration with Sheespian films, led by Shailaja Desai Fen, as it will see two powerhouses of Malayalam cinema – Manjumel boys director Chidambam and writer Jeethavan.
The KVN is converted into Malayalam cinema with Balan. The production house has an impressive list of films that are producing KD (Kannada), Yash with toxic, Thalapathy 69 (Tamil), and Priyadarshan’s thriller (Hindi).
One of the two production houses produced by the film, TheSian Films took the film to its Instagram page to announce the floor.

‘Balan’, which means ‘boy’, is written by Jethu Madhavan and claims an extraordinary technical team.
It will have cinematographer Shayju Khalid as a director of photography and as a music director of Sushin Sim. Vivek Harshan has been planted as the editor of the film.
The film is designed by the costumes Sapna Kajha Rawther and the makeup will be done by Ronex Xavier. Audiography for the film will be done by Shijin Melvin Hutton and Abhishek Nair and Ganpati will double as the casting director and executive producer of the film.
