In October, the series took a 15-year time jump, which led to the exit of several major characters. Gaurav KhannaAnuj Kapadia, who played the role, has also been absent in recent episodes. Now, the actor has finally spoken about his future in the show. After being away from the sets for two months, Gaurav shared, “People are constantly asking me about my comeback in Anupamaa. Rajan sir (producer Rajan Shahi) had discussed the possibility of a grand re-entry for the character, and we waited for two months for it to materialise. However, the story had to move forward, and there was no point in waiting any longer. He also felt that it was time for me to find something bigger. So, for now, Anuj’s chapter is closed, but I see it as a comma, not a full stop. If the story demands and my schedule allows, I will be happy to return.
during a conversation with The Times of IndiaGaurav Khanna said, “Anuj was originally planned as a three-month cameo, but it became a defining part of my career that lasted three years. This kind of love is rare, and I can’t thank my fans enough for it.”
“Moving on is not easy. But life is about turning pages and embracing new chapters. Pausing for too long may hinder growth. It is important to adapt and keep moving forward, the actor said.
Gaurav Khanna also expressed interest in exploring new platforms, especially OTT. He shared, “Television has given me immense reach, but OTT offers well-crafted characters and meaningful storytelling. Be it television, films or OTT, I am here to work hard and let my art speak.
