Paul Rudd and Jack Black are pushing to maintain a balance with wild action and thrills
Rudd says, “Striking that balance is a tricky thing, and except for the key moments, Tom always kept it very real. It was wonderful for us as an actor to be taken care of in that way. Tom has such clarity about what he’s going to do.”
Newton says, “The combination of comedy and action works so beautifully, because the characters are taking it incredibly seriously. A lot of the comedy comes from being faced with what’s happening in this absurd situation and how they’re all trying to struggle. Sometimes you have to laugh at the situations they find themselves in, but they’re responsible for where they are. They’ve brought it on themselves!”
