AICWA announced a total ban on Türkiye for film shoots on pro -Pakistan’s stand and security concerns

Mumbai: All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA), who represents Indian film industry workers, technicians, artists and professionals, has officially announced a complete boycott of Turkey for all film shoots and cultural cooperations.

This decision came in response to Türkiye’s continuous support for Pakistan during the India-Pakistan struggle, causing serious concerns about national security and safety of Indian citizens.

In Pahalgam recently, in a tragic incident, Pakistani militants attacked innocent Indian citizens, causing significant damage to life and suffering. During the India-Pakistan struggle, Turkey openly supported Pakistan, providing military and diplomatic assistance against India’s interests. Such works have depths the sentiments of the Indian film industry and the general public, as according to the press release on the official X handle of AICYA.

Now, AICWA has decided to “complete a complete ban on shooting in Türkiye”

According to the press release, “No Bollywood or Indian film projects will be immediately effective in Turkey, and no Indian producer, production home, director or financiers will not be allowed to take any film, television or digital content projects in Turkey.”

Apart from this, “There is also a ban on cooperation with Turkish artists and producers, Turkish actors, filmmakers, production houses and other creative professionals, no longer allowed to work in the Indian entertainment industry”

In addition, according to the press release, “any existing contracts or agreements with Turkish institutions should be reviewed and ended where possible.”

According to the press release, Aicwa will closely monitor the activities of Indian film professionals and organizations to ensure compliance with this instruction and strict action.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) appealed to Indian filmmakers to reconsider choosing Turkey as a shooting destination, citing Turkish support for Pakistan on matters affecting India’s national interests.

The apex bodies representing 36 crafts of workers, technicians and artists in the FWICE, Indian media and entertainment industry urge all Indian film producers to urge to rethink Turkey as a shooting destination in light of their growing support towards Pakistan, which is concerned with the depth of the national interests of India, which is according to the national interests of India.

On 22 April, militants attacked tourists at Besaran Meadow in Pahgam, killing 25 Indian citizens and a Nepali citizen, while several others were injured in one of the most deadly attacks in the valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike, including 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jawan.
