Allu Arjun responds to allegations on Sandhya theater tragedy; I am not blaming…

Hyderabad: Telugu superstar Allu Arjun has responded to allegations holding him responsible for the Sandhya theater tragedy during the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.

Speaking at a press conference on Saturday evening, the Pushpa actor described the incident as “very unfortunate” and said “a lot of misinformation” and “character assassination” were carried out against him.

‘This is a very unfortunate incident. This is completely an accident. My condolences to the family. I am taking hourly updates about the condition of the (hospitalized) child. His condition is improving, it is very good. There is a lot of misinformation, false allegations being made. I do not want to blame any department or politician. My character is being assassinated,” Arjun told the media on the stampede at Sandhya theater on December 4, in which a woman was killed and her child was injured.

“I am getting updates every hour about what is happening with the child, I am getting updates about what is happening with Mr Tej. The good thing is that he is moving, he is progressing, He is good. The good thing in all these accidents is that he is moving forward and that is good,” Arjun said.

Responding to the allegations made by some politicians, Arjun said, “I am not blaming anyone. There is a lot of misinformation and false allegations due to miscommunication. I will not blame any department, or any political leader or the government. Don’t want to blame. I’m very happy with the government because they have increased the ticket prices. I just want to point out that there is a lot of misinformation about what I did that day.”

“This is insulting and character assassination. You have been watching me for the last 20 years – can I ever speak or behave like this? There is a lot of misinformation and character assassination in this. I did a cinema, it was very big. It was a success.” But for the last 15 days, I have been sitting here alone without attending any function or event. I worked hard for three years for a film, but I did not see the film in the theater for me. But for the last 15 days, sitting alone, I have been consoling myself that I have no direct involvement in whatever happened, I am deeply sorry for whatever happened.”

Earlier in the day, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy alleged in the Assembly that the police had refused to allow any program at the Sandhya Theater due to security concerns. However, despite the warning, Allu Arjun attended the premiere and created chaos by climbing on the roof of his “car” and doing a roadshow on RTC X Road.

“Akbaruddin Owaisi submitted a request to the Chikkadpally police station on 2 December, asking for arrangements to be made for the cast and crew of Pushpa 2 to come to the Sandhya theater for the film’s release on 4 December. On 3 December, Chikkadpally Circle Inspector gave a written reply, which was rejected citing that since the theater is in a crowded place and there is only one exit and entry point, the police (any (bad situation)…” he said.

He further added, “Nonetheless, Hero came to watch the movie the next day and passed out from the roof of the car while doing a roadshow on RTC ” Crowd control At first the actor refused, saying that he would leave after finishing the film. Then the DCP had to intervene, and asked Nayak to leave, else he would be arrested as two people had already fallen out. He then came out of the terrace and had a road show…”

AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi also criticized Telugu superstar Allu Arjun over the Sandhya theater tragedy and alleged that the actor showed “irresponsible behaviour” during the screening of his film Pushpa 2, which led to the death of a woman.

On December 4, Allu Arjun attended the premiere of his film ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. A huge crowd gathered to get a glimpse of the star. The situation worsened when Arjun waved at fans from the sunroof of his vehicle, leading to the death of a woman named Revathi in the chaos.

After the incident, Allu Arjun was arrested but was released the next day after being granted bail by the Telangana High Court on furnishing a bond of Rs 50,000.

Meanwhile, Allu Arjun’s latest release, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’, directed by Sukumar and co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil is currently breaking box office records.
