Allu Arjun’s father-in-law meets Telangana Congress in-charge Deepa Dasmunshi

Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Allu Arjun’s father-in-law Kancharala Chandrasekhar Reddy met AICC in-charge for Telangana Deepa Dasmunshi on Monday.

The meeting at Gandhi Bhavan, the Telangana headquarters of the Congress party, is being held amid the raging controversy surrounding the actor following the stampede at a theater in Hyderabad on December 4 during the premiere show of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’.

Amid reports in a section of the media that Allu Arjun’s father-in-law faced humiliation for not meeting the AICC in-charge, Chandrashekhar Reddy left Gandhi Bhavan after meeting Dasmunshi.

Chandrashekhar Reddy left Gandhi Bhavan without answering the questions of media persons.

However, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud said Chandrashekhar Reddy met Dasmunshi.

The TPCC chief said that Chandrasekhar Reddy had come to Gandhi Bhavan to meet him, but since he was busy in a press conference, Chandrasekhar Reddy left after meeting Dasmunshi.

Stating that Chandrashekhar Reddy was still in the Congress party, Gaur said he would talk to him.

Chandrashekhar Reddy had left Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) to join the Congress party in February this year.

His meeting with Dasmunshi came a day after some members of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee attacked Allu Arjun’s house in Hyderabad. They were demanding the actor to give Rs 1 crore to the family of the woman who died in the stampede at Sandhya Theatre.

Speaking in the Assembly on December 21, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had launched a scathing attack on Allu Arjun and held him responsible for the stampede in which a woman was killed and her son was injured.

Revanth Reddy said Allu Arjun visited the theater without police permission, held a ‘road show’ due to lack of sensitivity even after a woman lost her life and her son was seriously injured in a stampede.

The actor also faced criticism for not meeting the bereaved family or visiting the injured child in the hospital.

The Chief Minister also found fault with the film personalities who had visited Allu Arjun’s house to meet him after his release from jail.
