Mumbai: Director Vignesh Shivan, who is also superstar Nayanthara’s husband, has deactivated his ex’s former Twitter account.
This comes amid the growing controversy over Nayanthara’s streaming documentary ‘Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale’.
This comes after reports of online backlash against Vignesh following his recent appearance at a roundtable related to pan-Indian films. Users on the internet pointed out that his last film ‘Kaathuvakula Rendu Kaadhal’ was not a pan-India project. His upcoming film ‘Love Insurance Company’ also does not fit in that category. However, no statement has been issued from Vignesh or his team regarding the deactivation of his X account.
His Instagram account remains active and the director has also shared posts on Instagram but has not mentioned anything about deleting his ex’s account.
Earlier, a controversy had erupted when Nayanthara had criticized Tamil star Dhanush as the actress had called out the ‘Maari’ star after Dhanush had sought legal action against her over the use of some clips in the documentary without permission. Notice was sent.
The actress shared a long letter addressed to Dhanush on her Instagram, in which she points a gun at the actor for trying to stop the release of her documentary as it contains footage from the film ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’.

He shared that after struggling for two years with the actor for the NOC (No Objection Certificate) and waiting for his approval for the documentary release, the team finally gave up, re-edited and settled for the current version.
