Mumbai: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is deeply saddened by Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final. Big B said that he felt bad to see SRH owner Kavya Maran hiding her tears after her team’s defeat.
Expressing his feelings on his blog, Big B wrote, “The IPL final is over and KKR have won very convincingly. SRH were beaten comfortably. It is disappointing in many ways because SRH are a good team and when they played other matches, their performance was excellent.”
“But what was most touching was the beautiful young lady present in the stadium, who was the owner of SRH, got emotional after the loss and burst into tears, she turned her face away from the cameras so that she couldn’t show her emotions… I felt bad for her!! Never mind… tomorrow is another day… my love!!” He added.
Talking about the match, SRH won the toss and decided to bat first. KKR shook SRH by taking wickets in quick succession, with Mitchell Starc justifying his hefty price tag. Only captain Pat Cummins (24 off 19 balls, two fours and a six) and Aiden Markram (20 off 23 balls, three fours) could touch the 20-run mark and SRH were all out for 113 in 18.3 overs.
Andre Russell (3/19) was the top bowler for KKR. Starc (2/14) and Harshit Rana (2/24) also contributed well with the ball. Sunil Narine, Varun Chakraborty and Vaibhav Arora took one wicket each.
KKR chased down the target of 114 runs in 10.3 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Venkatesh Iyer (52* off 26 balls, four fours and three sixes) and Rahmanullah Gurbaz (39 off 32 balls, five fours and two sixes) performed brilliantly for KKR in the final match of the tournament.
Meanwhile, on the acting front, Amitabh Bachchan is busy shooting for ‘Vettaiyan’, which also stars Rajinikanth. Photos of Big B and Rajinikanth reuniting on the sets of TJ Gnanavel’s upcoming film have gone viral.
In one of the photos, the megastars posed stylishly together, dressed in stunning suits.
Rajinikanth and Amitabh also hugged each other and in another photo they were seen deeply immersed in discussion. Earlier they appeared together in Andha Kanoon (1983) and Girftaar (1985). Their last film was Hum, which released in 1991.
Big B will also be seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Kamal Haasan. The film will release in theatres on June 27.
