Amitabh Bachchan wrote a heartfelt note for grandson Agastya Nanda before his big screen debut with ‘Ikkis’, called him special

New Delhi: Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has penned an emotional note for his grandson Agastya Nanda, who is set to make his big screen debut with Twenty One. The much-awaited film directed by Sriram Raghavan recently released its trailer, which is receiving positive response from the audience.

Big B took to his blog to share his pride and affection for Agastya. Recalling the time when he first held his grandson in his arms as a baby, he wrote,

“Agastya! I held you in my hands as soon as you were born… A few months later, I held you again in my hands and your soft fingers moved forward to play with my beard… Today you act in theaters all over the world… (sic).”

The proud grandfather said, “You are special… My prayers and blessings are for you… May you make your work proud and bring the greatest pride to the family.”

Agastya’s father industrialist Nikhil Nanda also expressed his pride in a Facebook post after watching the trailer. He has written,

“Some moments make you proud beyond words. Watching the trailer of Ikkisyas, I felt immense pride – as a father and as an Indian. Agastya’s portrayal of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal (PVC) is a moving tribute to the courage and spirit of our country. Best wishes to Agastya, Sriram Raghavan and the Ikkisya team for every success in sharing this inspiring story.”

Filmmaker Karan Johar also praised the trailer of Ikkis. Sharing his excitement on social media, he wrote,

“Loved it!!! This is going to be a solid film!!! Sriram on his A-game!!! Love you AGG!!! So, so proud!!! All the best and lots of love to @maddockfilms (sic).”

Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, Twenty One revolves around the inspiring story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient. Khetrapal displayed exemplary bravery during the Battle of Basantar and destroyed 10 Pakistani tanks before sacrificing his life for the country.

Apart from Agastya Nanda, Simar Bhatia, Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher and Deepak Dobriyal are also in lead roles in the film. Twenty One is scheduled to release in theaters in December 2025.
