A life-size statue of Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan installed by an Indian-American businessman outside his residence in New Jersey in the US is now listed by Google as a tourist attraction.
Gopi Seth installed a life-size statue of Bachchan outside his residence in the town of Edison, about 35 kilometres south of Manhattan in New York in August 2022.
“Our house has become one of the most popular tourist attractions because of the Amitabh Bachchan statue. Recognised by Google search, the site attracts an increasing number of visitors every day,” Seth told PTI on Sunday.
In the two years since then, fans of the Indian superstar have been flocking to the spot, taking photographs and selfies, many of which they post on social media platforms like Instagram and X.
Sharing some videos of fans visiting the statue, Seth said, “Fans of Mr Bachchan from across the world visit the statue, with families arriving in 20 to 25 cars every day. Visitors often leave greeting cards and letters expressing their admiration for the legendary actor.”
Seth said the popularity of his home extends far beyond individual visits. “Enthusiastic fans post videos, photos and tweets about their experiences, which flood social media platforms such as Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. These posts have garnered a lot of attention, further increasing the site’s fame and making it a trending destination on the Internet,” he said.
“Our House is a testimony to Mr Bachchan’s global appeal and we take pride in welcoming fans from every corner of the world,” he said. PTI LKJ GRS GRS GRS
