An exhibition on the artistic journey of Bharatanatyam Exam Figure Visvesvaran

The nine -day exhibition was recently held in honor of Chitra Visvesvaran, the exponent of Bharatanatyam, marked his 75th year. Conducted in collaboration with Alliance Franceis of Chennai, the event discovered his magnificent artistic journey in seven decades, showing his versatile contribution as an artist, choreographer and teacher.

The exhibition titled ‘What Ancorade Me, Late Me Fly’, cured by Bhoja Padmanabhan, was shown a collection of rare black-and-white and color photos while documenting the life of Senior Dancer from 1950 to 2025. This is from his childhood and with his family, Thirvidimarudur a. Rajalakshmi and Wazahuvri Ramiar Ramiar Ramiar Ramiar Ramiar. Apart from this, his costumes, jewelery, awards and musical instruments such as Santoor, Tambura and Guitar on the performance, their late husband, R. Was played by Visvesvaran. Connecting a visual and emotional dimension, a continuous screening of video parts from its landmark productions, including the famous Wirimalai Kuravanji, performed with Padma Subrahmanyam and Sudhini Raghupati, offering visitors to give visitors a glimpse in their creative universe.

However, trained in both Tajavur and Vazuvur traditions, Chitra Visvesvaran went to develop his specific style, today referred to as Vichitra Bani, which was unveiled in the exhibition. Bani recognizes the immense ability of dance as a medium of communication – physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. Through decades of performance and teaching, he has guided generations of dancers who continue to carry forward their beauty ideals and artistic philosophy. His job reminds us that Bharatanatyam is based in tradition, also a living language of thought and emotion.

Nine days, six evenings included special programs, including a illustrated thing by filmmaker Sharada Ramanathan, a dance tribute by Shobana, her guru, Abhai from Abhai (Priya Murle, Rosa Kannan, Priya Dixit, Mahalakshmi Ashwin, Padmalakshmi Suresh, Binshevan, Nitishwan, Nithivan, Nithiwan, Nithiwan, Nithiwan, Nithivan Nagarajan Singh and Sukanya. During the conversation with Ravindra, Prasad and Chitra Visvesvaran shared personal anecdotes and memories. Delhi, Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts (IGNCA), Sachidanand Joshi, Delhi participated in the event.

The closing was performed by Anita Ratnam, Narathi Nataraja, Satyanarayana Raju and MVN Murthy. Senior disciples Sukanya Ravindra and Anusuya concluded the series with a moving performance for one of Chitra Visveswaran’s favorite Bengali songs.
