New Delhi: Ananya Panday’s ‘Call Me Bae’ is one of the most anticipated releases. With sharp observations, witty dialogues and candid humour, the trailer gives a glimpse of an exciting series that features a diverse cast of characters, unexpected plot twists and endless laughter. The eight-part series is a light-hearted, charming comedy-drama that follows the life of Bela Choudhary, also known as Bae, as she transforms from a pampered heiress to a determined hustler.
As we move forward in the trailer, we find ourselves laughing along with Ananya as Bey, as she navigates the ups and downs of life. Whether she is experiencing a bumpy auto-rickshaw ride, grumbling about white bread, or giving clever answers in a job interview, Bey’s sharp tongue and outspoken opinions are sure to touch the hearts of the audience.
Here are some dialogues in the trailer that will surely make you laugh:
1. ”The middle class will be an upgrade, madam”
One of the standout lines is when Saira (played by Muskaan Jaffrey) tells Bey, “Middle class will be an upgrade madam, after her card is rejected at a five-star hotel. The trailer immediately begins with candid and unfiltered wit and humour, making it clear that Ananya Bey Panday is going to be a big mood in the series.
2. “Doesn’t it have seatbelts?”
In another funny moment, Bey innocently asks Muskaan about the workings of the autorickshaw, as if she is a pure travel princess! Ananya’s impassioned speech about the absence of seatbelts is perfect and funny. We have all been there, walking on the chaotic streets of Mumbai, questioning whether we will be able to survive this journey safely.
3. ”Although news channels work for us, but I have studied journalism, social media journalism”
Coming from a world of privilege and protection, Bay doesn’t shy away from poking fun at her own bubble. In a hysterical turn of events, Bay completely exposed how social media is a form of journalism. We hear you, Bay!”
4. ”Our dream is to reach where your compulsion begins!”
The funniest moment of the trailer comes when Bay vents out her frustration to the building’s watchman, “Majbooriyon se main gujar rahi hu bhaiya.” The watchman’s brilliant reply leaves us laughing: “Aapki majboori jahan shuru hoti hai, wahin tak puchhan hi humara sapna hai!” Breaking the fourth wall, Ananya jokingly replies – “Why have I heard this before?” – Bay’s humour is sharp, self-aware and spot-on, setting the stage for a series that is not just funny but also witty with plenty of wittiness!
