Filmmaker Anees Bajmi has finally set a record record on the speculation around Diljit Dosanj’s departure with ‘No Entry 2’. The sequel to the 2005 comedy blockbuster has been creating a buzz since it was announced, especially due to its new star-stasted artists, including Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and initially, Diljit.
Originally to go on the floor in March this year, the film’s shooting hit an unexpected stagnation due to scheduling adjustment. Shortly thereafter, rumors began to spread that Diljit had dropped the project due to creative disagreement. But Anees Bajmi has now clarified that it is far from the truth.
Anees Bajmi on Diljit’s exit
In a recent chat with India today, Bajmi shared that he met Diljit only twice for brief discussion. “He was really quite curious to be a part of it,” the director shared, explaining that Diljit had agreed to join the artists after a short script statement that did not last more than 10 minutes.
However, when the singer-actor was pressed out of the film, Bajmi blamed it completely for logistic obstacles. “He wanted to do the film, but when I met him recently, we realized that there was an issue with dates. No entry 2 is a huge artist and a very big film with crew. There are many actors, and it is important for us that everyone can come together.”
Bazmee hope is part of any entry without Diljit
Despite the shock, the director remains optimistic. Bajmi said that the production team is still working to align the schedule and if things fall into the place, Diljit can cast it very well. He said, “I think they are finding out the dates, and I hope it will work. But whatever happens will be for the good. I am sure,” he is confident, “he said.
A long journey with Boney Kapoor
The film is being produced by Boney Kapoor, who also supported the original no entry. Speaking about his cooperation with the legendary producer, Bajmi shared, “I have now been with Boney ji (producer Boney Kapoor) for 7-8 years, working on this film. We have seen many ups and downs, but we are on it. I cling to my commitment. I am very fun.
About no entry 2
Unlike her predecessor, in which Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Ferdin Khan were shown, any entry 2 brings into a new trio. The alleged change was not well down with everyone – Boney Kapoor had earlier admitted that his brother Anil Kapoor was unhappy about being out of the sequel.
