Actress Angelina Jolie has officially dropped her lawsuit against the Justice Department and the FBI regarding the 2016 plane incident involving her ex-husband Brad Pitt. The news was confirmed by E! According to court documents obtained by E! News, the dismissal was finalized with prejudice, indicating that the case cannot be refiled. The agreement provides that each party will bear its own legal fees and costs.
The lawsuit was initially filed under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in April 2022, with Angelina identified in court as the anonymous “Jane Doe”. The filing sought the release of documents related to an alleged domestic violence incident that took place on a private jet.
Angelina’s claim details that during the flight, Brad “allegedly physically and verbally attacked” her and their children, causing “permanent physical and mental trauma.” The charges reflect details of an FBI report that emerged following a flight from Europe to Los Angeles on September 14, 2016.
