Angelina Jolie has urged her ex-husband Brad Pitt to “finish the fight” and withdraw his lawsuit over his winery, Chateau Miraval. Brangelina initially shared a 50/50 stake in the estate until 2021.
The “Salt” actress’ attorney, Paul Murphy, claimed that even though her ex has “control of all the assets they shared, as well as the business, he is still demanding more, and is suing Angelina for $67 million plus punitive damages.”
Angelina Jolie’s latest statement urging Brad Pitt to withdraw lawsuit
In a statement shared with Page Six, the legal representative said Pitt “tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a new extended NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse.” In contrast, Jolie has consistently said her ex-husband “should end the feud and finally put their family on a clear path toward healing.” Jolie’s team was not surprised by Pitt’s refusal to hand over certain documents that “demonstrate these facts” to the proceedings. “Unless Mr. Pitt withdraws his lawsuit, Angelina has no choice but to obtain the evidence she needs to prove his allegations are false,” Murphy said.

The former Hollywood couple have been butting heads in this legal battle ever since Jolie sold her shares of the winery for $67 million in October 2021. Following this, Pitt filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that her sale was contrary to their verbal agreement. In April, Jolie alleged that Pitt renegotiated their previous agreement after he refused to buy her shares unless she agreed to sign a sweeping NDA. The “Maleficent” actress felt this was an attempt to suppress his alleged abuse of her and their children. However, Pitt’s representatives have denied this.
Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt’s NDA dispute and rift in family relationships
In June last year, Pitt’s lawyers filed documents saying that Jolie was the one who initially requested the extensive NDA.
A source on Pitt’s side in the fight claimed it was “extremely upsetting” that Jolie “used the kids as a weapon” against the “Bullet Train” actor and “separated him from them.”
The “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” co-stars split in 2016, and things have been rocky since. The report comes on the heels of alleged claims in 2016 that Pitt assaulted Jolie and their children during a family plane trip that year. In addition to Jolie’s latest statement, Pitt also wants to dismiss Jolie’s request for their private messages about the plane incident.
“These private, third-party communications are far removed from the issues and allegations in this case, and in many cases, they bear an extremely tenuous connection to ‘what happened on that plane,'” Pitt’s filing, obtained by USA Today, states.

Allegations against Brad Pitt
According to a filing made in October 2022, Jolie’s lawyers alleged that Pitt “grabbed Jolie’s head and shook it, and then grabbed her shoulders and shook her again, before he pushed her against a bathroom wall” while they were on a flight to California to visit a French winery.
The former couple has six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Vivienne and Knox. He was also accused of being violent towards some of them. Recently, several adult Jolie-Pitt children have also dropped Pitt’s name from their surnames.
According to the document filed Thursday, Pitt’s attorney claimed the actor “voluntarily offered to produce all documentation sufficient to show that whatever happened on the flight triggered the former couple’s divorce.” However, Jolie’s request appears to go beyond the details of the family trip. “If Jolie’s requests were truly about ‘what happened on that plane,’ as she claims, then Pitt’s offer should have been sufficient,” the filing reads.
