Angelina Jolie’s daughter Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has reportedly taken a major step towards breaking legal ties with her father Brad Pitt. Shiloh reportedly placed an ad in a Los Angeles newspaper for a legal name change. The star kid, who just turned 18, decided to take this major step, which is usually required before a court approves a legal name change. News of this major move first surfaced in May when it was revealed that her sister Vivienne had also dropped “Pitt” from her name.

Brangelina’s eldest biological child was the first to remove Pitt’s name from her Instagram profile after her parents split. The teen wants to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to just Shiloh Nouvel Jolie. The ad appeared in the newspaper after she asked the court to change her last name in May, just days after she turned 18, to show how eager she is to change her name. The rules also state that if anyone disagrees with the name change, they must appear in court later this month. If not, she will proceed with changing her name.

An insider told Entertainment Tonight that Shiloh hired and paid her own lawyer, so “Angie is unaware of this and can’t comment on it.” However, those close to Pitt are skeptical and told Page Six, “Everyone should be wondering who really could be behind this.”
Differences between Pitt and Shiloh escalate
The day after news broke that Pitt’s daughters were choosing to remove their father’s name, it was reported that the Moneyball star was heartbroken, especially because he ‘always wanted a daughter, and Shiloh was very special to him.’ However, it was also said that the actor has been growing distant from his children ever since he and the mother of six, 49, split in 2016. Their divorce battle, which has been going on for nearly eight years, became even more complicated when Angelina claimed her ex-husband hit her and the kids on a plane returning from their Chateau Miraval.
