The project ‘Tanvi the Great’, directed by veteran actor Anupam Kher, has been prepared for his Grand Premier at the Cannes Film Festival under the March du Film Section.

Marking his return in direction after more than two decades, Kher described ‘Tanvi the Great’ as a film that speaks a universal language. “I always wanted to make a film with a universal theme – one that crosses the boundaries and connects with the heart everywhere. Tanvi The Great is a story that was born deep passion and purpose,” he underlined his expectations, saying that the film would get an emotional relationship with the global audience.
Kher on the contribution of Mimi Kerwani
Kher, who directed ‘Om Jai Jagdish’ in 2002, emphasized how personal the film is for him and praised the contribution of Oscar winning composer MM Kerwani.
“This is a film of our hearts, and I believe it will echo deeply with the audience in Ahmedabad in the US. Oscar-winner MM Kerwani is a true blessing to bring this story into life with his music talent. His artistry has dreamed a lot of humility for ‘Tanvi’. ,
Screening of Tanvi The Great
After the onset of its Cannes, the film will travel worldwide with a planned screening in major cities such as London, New York and Los Angeles. Anupam Kher is personally ready to introduce the film in these events, and will also participate in the premiere by the film’s actors and the crew, as well as with several prominent names of the industry.
Adding another feather to his cap, ‘Tanvi The Great’ has also welcomed the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) on the board as a co-producer. The announcement was made on 11 April.
Speaking about the partnership, Kher said, “Tanvi The Great is a labor of love, designed with excellent talent in cinema. As a co-producer as NFDC, it strengthens our journey in bringing this powerful story for audiences worldwide as a co-producer.”
NFDC, known for supporting iconic Indian cinema such as ‘Salaam Bombay’, ‘Mirch Masala’, and ‘Qissa’, brings strong credibility and global reach until the release of the film.
