Anurag Kashyap, Gulshan Devaiah in ‘Bad Cop’
Gulshan Devaiah and Anurag Kashyap to star in Indian adaptation of German series Bad Cop: Criminal Faction,
action-crime series titled Bad Cop Adapted by Rensil D’Silva and will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. It is directed by Aditya Dutt.
In the show, Karan (Devaiah), a dreaded police officer, is trying to chase down Kazbe, a dangerous criminal, played by Kashyap.
The show is content house Fremantle’s first fictional series production in India.
Talking about his role in the series, Anurag Kashyap said in a statement, “I have created a lot of characters who are bloody, bizarre, dark and many other things, but believe it or not it was difficult for me to play a character like this. Kazbe is someone who doesn’t think too much before doing something, he just does it. He is a terrifying, crazy, nefarious and the quintessential villain. I had to understand the intricacies of this character and make it my own.”
Gulshan Devaiah, who also played a cop in the crime series Daahad, said, “I am excited as this is a different kind of role for me. I have played a different kind of cop in another show as Devilal, but here it is more of an entertaining kind of cop.”
