New Delhi: After a much awaited wait for Anushka Sharma’s return film Chakda Express, co-star Dibyandu Bhattacharya has now broken her silence in an interview with News18, which addresses the growing speculation around the release situation of the film.
It has been more than two years since the Chakda Express was declared with great pomp, marking Sharma’s return to Sharma’s acting after an interval after the 2018 film Zero.
Bhattacharya said, “You don’t know how badly I am waiting for the release of the film because it is a great film.”
“Anushka’s best performance yet”
The actor did not copy words while praising Anushka Sharma’s performance in the film. “This is Anushka Sharma’s best performance to date. I don’t know why they are not releasing it. It is actually a really brilliant film,” she insisted.
Film status: shelter or postponed?
Asked whether the project was sheltered or only postponed, Bhattacharya clearly admitted that it was uncertain. “I don’t know anyone. If I had any information about the film, I will tell you first. I really don’t know,” he said.
He said, “Clean slate is on one side and Netflix is on the other. What is going on between the two, I have no clue.”
Paid beyond screen
Beyond artistic frustration, Bhattacharya also highlighted the widespread implications of delay in production. “As an actor, I really want the film to watch the light of the day. A lot of hard work goes to make a film. The research starts from the day to the final print, it is a long and emotionally invested journey. So many people are involved. Many ambitions ride on a film. Many families run through it – technicians, daily wages, daily wages, are very hurt.
A delay return
Chakda XPRESS was officially co-functioned by Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif after Zero (2018) as Anushka Sharma’s first film in 2022. Produced by Swachh Slate Film, the production house established by Anushka’s brother Karnesh Sharma is based on the life of film cricketer Jhulan Goswami.
However, last year various reports were revealed that the clean slate’s partnership with Netflix had ended, contributed to the delay in the release of the film. No official confirmation has been made on the current status of the project.

Concluding the interview, Bhattacharya confirmed his faith in the quality and importance of the film. “I want the film to be released immediately,” he said. “And I’m telling you – this is a great film. A great film. And so far Anushka’s best performance.”
