Rashi Khanna at the event
New Delhi:
Raashi Khanna, who attended the promotional event of the film Aranmanai 4 Ahead of the Hindi release on Wednesday, she spoke candidly about the pay gap in the industry. Aranmanai 4Originally made in Tamil, the film grossed over Rs 100 crore at the South box office. Giving an example of how female-led films have been accepted by the audience, Raashi Khanna said in this meet, “As female actors, it is a validation for all of us that we can take a film on our shoulders and make it great. For that, we need filmmakers like Sundar C sir who believe in us. Also, I believe that art and cinema should not be bound by gender.”
She added, “It’s time we take it that way. Films like Article 370, Crew and now our film have proved that women are just as ahead as men. Art should be judged by the way it is made and not by who is in it. Also, we should get better pay as there is a huge difference between the two. I hope that happens with time.”
Directed by Sundar C, Aranmanai 4 also stars Sundar himself, as well as Santhosh Pratap, Ramachandra Raju, Kovai Sarala and Delhi Ganesh. The film co-starred Tamannaah and Raashi Khanna. They posed together for photographers. Check out the pictures here:
