New Delhi: Arjun Rampal raised the intensity level as the angel of death ISI Major Iqbal in the recently released Dhurandhar and took the internet by storm. On screen, the actor showed vengeance and adopted a rough, dangerous persona like never before. However, off screen, the change was immediate.
The actor recently opened up about playing the role and admitted that he wanted to get out of the character of Major Iqbal as soon as possible.
“I wanted to get out of the character as quickly as possible. One important reason for doing this was that it is an important film to do,” Rampal shared. He further highlighted that the primary job of an actor is to live the character, even if it makes the performer feel very uncomfortable.

He said, “Watching the event is a different thing. What happened behind the scenes, watching those events happen is something that will excite me as an audience. I felt terrible while doing that because you love your country so much. But I think that’s the job of an actor, you just have to immerse yourself in it.”
Arjun Rampal on 26/11
Earlier, Rampal had revealed that a scene depicting the 26/11 terrorist attacks was the “toughest” moment of his career.
Sharing his thoughts on social media, the actor posted a detailed gratitude note reflecting on his experience working on the film. Referring to the tense 26/11 scene, a fan wrote, “The 26/11 scene was very impactful. As an audience, we felt the character of Hamza, portrayed by Ranveer Singh, very painfully. But as an Indian, how did you and the rest of the cast feel while acting and after the scene was cut?”
Responding to the comment, Rampal simply wrote, “Toughest scene of my life.”
In the post, the actor also expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire team. An excerpt from his note read:
“#Dhurandhar, who is a man’s vision and passion – my Boiya (Kashmiri for brother) @AdityadharFilms. The day you narrated the film to me, I realized how important this story was to you. The level of research, the depth in every character, the creation of each role – from looks to attitude – you amazed me. Most importantly, you endured all the pressure during the filming and never had a bad day. Thank you, Boiya. Love you.”
