In one corner of the gallery space at the Kashi Art Cafe in Fort Kochi, a script makes a scope made of scrap metal, with a scrap metal, a man’s torso bends forward, such as curling inside. Paintings executed in acrylic and charcoal on canvas inspire a sense of discomfort. Many faces, eyes, layers… conflict is unavoidable. The bold lines of human forms in charcoal communicate a certain rawness and depth passion. These are not easy to see because people who constantly seem in a state of inward struggle. His compositions claimed her command on the anatomy, which gives her eloquence to express inner feelings.

Yamini, an alumna at the Government Fine Arts College, Thiruvananthapuram, where he completed his graduation and master’s fine arts, has been part of a single and group shows in India and abroad. Yamini writes, in her artist’s statement, her interest in portrait drawing became ‘the main way of expressing her feelings’ with charcoal. His experience in the Forensic Medicine Department at Trivandrum Medical College, where he spent time as part of his course requirement, contributed to shaping him as an artist. She refers to her process as comfortable and comfortable. She says, “She says,” I detect subjects like injustice, frustration and human rights. My job invites the audience to human experience and reflect the world around them, “she says.
