The official handles of BookMyShow and BookMyShow Live (which handles the live event) shared a joint post on their Instagram handles on Sunday evening, which read, “Protect yourself from ticket scams! Don’t fall prey to unauthorised platforms selling fake tickets for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025 in India!”

“It has come to our notice that unauthorised platforms are listing tickets for Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025 in India before and after the official sale. BookMyShow is the only official platform for ticket sales.”

A BookMyShow spokesperson told ANI, “We implemented a queue system to manage the massive demand and resolved issues caused by suspicious and malicious traffic within minutes, causing slight delays but ensuring minimal disruption for genuine fans. About Coldplay Concert in Mumbai

The British rock band added a third show (on January 21) to the Mumbai leg of its Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025, citing “unprecedented demand”, hours after fans expressed disappointment over long virtual queues on BookMyShow.

BookMyShow’s website and app servers crashed on Sunday as it began selling tickets for the British band’s concert next year. Many fans shared screenshots of their computer screens and smartphones, causing a huge amount of traffic on the app.

According to BookMyShow, tickets for the two shows scheduled to be held at Mumbai’s DY Patil Sports Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025 were to go on sale at 12 noon. Many said that tickets were not available for booking even after 12.15 pm.

The ticket prices are as follows From Rs 2,500 ₹ 12,500, with According to the platform’s website, the lounge area had to be charged Rs 35,000. In less than an hour, the servers were up and running again and BookMyShow shared a message of facing “heavy traffic” on every account trying to book tickets, with the waitlist reaching 842,745 (data till 1.39 pm on the BookMyShow website). A message on the platform read, “Due to heavy traffic, the queue is moving slower than expected. Thanks for your patience!”

A fan claimed that other platforms are selling Coldplay tickets at exorbitant prices. He said, “Dear @coldplay, fans in India are struggling to get tickets on @Bookmyshow_live as the waitlist is over 300k but platforms like Viagogo (search Coldplay India tickets on Google, the first sponsored link will be VIAGOGO) are selling them at exorbitant prices.”

The concert in Mumbai will be Coldplay’s first visit to India in eight years. The Grammy-winning band previously performed in Mumbai as part of the Global Citizen Festival in 2016. The Music of the Spheres World Tour 2025 will kick off at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia on October 30 and conclude with a show at Wembley Stadium in London, UK on August 31, 2025.
