American screenwriter, director, editor, and producer Ashley Avis has been selected to write and direct the film. American wolfinformed of DiversityThe film is based on the novel by Nate Blakeslee. Appian Way will produce the film, with Blakeslee serving as consulting producer. Appian Way is executive produced by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson.
The film was first made at Warners through Appian Way. After viewing Avis’ documentary, Wild Beauty: Mustang Spirit of the Westwhich examined the US government’s dealings with its wild horse population, Appian Way brought Avis on board to write and direct, and they sold American wolf As an offer to Apple.
