New Delhi:
Following reports of Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan suffering stab wounds, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly demanded a thorough investigation into the attack.
A statement from AICWA president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta said: “The shocking attack on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan following an alleged robbery attempt at his residence has created an atmosphere of fear within the industry. The incident comes soon after the tragic murder of Baba Siddiqui, further heightening concerns about targeted crimes against high-profile individuals in Mumbai.
The statement noted that AICWA “strongly” calls for a thorough investigation of this attack.
“It is important to highlight whether this was a mere robbery or a premeditated act to create fear in Bollywood, potentially paving the way for large-scale extortion. “The possibility of such sinister intentions cannot be ignored and should be investigated extensively.”
“Mumbai, considered the cultural and entertainment hub of the country, is witnessing alarming incidents of violence in VVIP areas, raising serious questions about law and order. The government and law enforcement agencies must address this growing threat and ensure the safety of Bollywood celebrities, who are an integral part of the country’s cultural and economic identity.
“AICWA urges the Honorable Home Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis to take decisive and immediate action.”
“We demand the arrest of those responsible for this attack on Saif Ali Khan and a high-level investigation into whether this was an isolated incident or part of a larger, well-planned attempt to create chaos and intimidation within the film industry.”
The statement further said that the government should not only arrest the culprits but also implement strong security measures to protect Bollywood celebrities and their families from such threats.
“It is the duty of the administration to protect those who contribute immensely to the image and prosperity of the nation.”
“AICWA stands united with Saif Ali Khan, his family and the Bollywood fraternity. We will not tolerate any attempt to disrupt the peace and security of the industry. Now is the time for authorities to act decisively and restore confidence in Mumbai’s security.
