Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed six times during a robbery attempt at his Mumbai home last night. Khan is currently admitted in Lilavati Hospital and is undergoing surgery.
The incident happened last night at 2.30 am and Saif was taken to Lilavati Hospital around 3-3.30 am.
The actor is currently undergoing surgery. His team requested the media and fans to be patient as it is a police matter.
A statement from Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team read, “Last night there was an attempted theft at the residence of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. Saif suffered an injury to his hand for which he is in the hospital, undergoing a procedure. The rest of the family is fine. We request the media and fans to remain patient and not speculate further as the police is already conducting its own investigation. “
Last night, Kareena Kapoor Khan shared a story on Instagram where she was dining with her friends Rhea Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor and sister Karisma Kapoor. Karisma Kapoor had posted a story of the dinner table and captioned it, “Girls night in, @rheakapoor, @sonamkapoor, @kareenkapoorkhan.”
An FIR has been registered at Bandra Police Station, Mumbai and the matter is being thoroughly investigated.
When a scuffle broke out between the actor and the intruder, he was stabbed six times. As soon as everyone in the house woke up, the thief fled the premises.
Bandra Police is now interrogating three attendants. One of them has reportedly also been injured.
As of now, reports suggest that only one infiltrator is suspected to be behind the crime.
