Avatar Fire and Ash Twitter Review: James Cameron’s third adventure in the blockbuster science-fiction franchise has received a mixed response, with some critics dismissing it as “boring” and even “nonsense”. After watching the initial showing of the film, many viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share their reviews of the film. The Avatar movie, some call it ‘mindblowing’.
“Peak cinematic experience. Mind-blowing story and visuals, best film Avatar franchise. Only downside: Some scenes are repetitive and a bit predictable. A must watch on the big screen, a once in a lifetime experience,” one post read.
Another post read, “I really want avatar 3 to succeed because I need more villain romance #AvatarFireAndAsh #Avatar3FireAndAsh #quaritch #Varang.”
One said, “James Cameron, you made me cry… this movie is my favourite”, another shared, “Watched #AvatarFireAndAsh. Basically the same things I liked from the second movie are there too. Amazing to watch and very entertaining, they never feel like 3+ hours and it never got boring watching. Varang and Quaritch are very good.”
One posted, “Fire and Ash is a more cheesy movie than the other two. The new villain Varang is a breath of fresh air. She’s downright evil (no sympathetic villains here… thank god), sexy and a lot of fun to watch. She also uses her seduction powers very well. There’s a rousing journey scene that’s different from anything we’ve seen in the franchise… really cool.”
Another social media user shared, “Like the other movies, HFR 3D is fantastic. Please watch it in 3D and Dolby. You will thank me. These movies are an experience that should be seen in larger format. If you don’t, you will only get half the fun. Also Jake Sully is ultimately a great character here. He shines more as a father, a warrior and a father figure. He was loved in the other movies. Loved him in this one. Something great in this one.” There are also action set pieces. The first one is about 45 minutes long, and benefits greatly from the sound design.”
It added, “My only complaint is that as great as Varang is, it hasn’t been utilized to its full potential. No spoilers.”
“Best Avatar movie ever. Can’t wait to see it again,” one said, adding, “It’s not just a movie, it’s an experience. Watching #AvatarFireAndAsh on the famous MYTHRI VIMAL 70MM is pure cinema magic. Single screen. Huge scale. Unmatched vibes.”
One shared, “The amazing use of technology and innovative visual effects master James Cameron made the cinema experience even more special. Avatar Fire and Ash continues with that incredible filmmaking legacy.”
One shared, “#AvatarFireAndAsh is great and it surprised me many times. It’s making Jim Cameron weird and cryptic 8/10… just take me back to Pandora.”

Avatar: Fire and Ash is the third installment of the franchise, following Avatar (2009) and Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). The film premiered at the Dolby Theater on December 1 and will be released in theaters on December 19. James Cameron’s previous two epics, 2009’s Avatar and 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, each grossed more than $2 billion globally and are among the two biggest films in history.
According to the Hindustan Times review, “Avatar was an attempt at simple storytelling with world-class visuals and giving audiences the true joy of cinema. But it seems Cameron has now lost the plot. In Fire and Ash, it feels as if he made a bunch of scenes and then strung them together, hoping no one would notice there was no coherent story, or at least nothing new to tie the plot together.” Avatar Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) on the alien moon of Pandora. It also stars Stephen Lang, Sigourney Weaver, Britain Dalton, Trinity Bliss, Jack Champion and Oona Chaplin.
