Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, marking her opposition, said in a statement that the jury insulted the great tradition of Indian cinema, which stood for religious brotherhood and national integration, honoring a film that was made on a lie to defam Kerala and spread communalism.
“Honoring a film, which explicitly spreads misinformation with a clear intention of tarnishing the image of Kerala and sowing the seeds of communal hatred, the jury has given a validity for a story for a legend contained in the divisive ideology of the partition of the Sangh. But everyone who believes in democracy should raise his voice in defense of the truth and consider the constitutional values to be considered a dear.

He said, “It is very regrettable that a National Award is being given to a film which is full of baseless allegations and hate publicity. It is recognized by efforts to create partitions in the society. Such trends do not grow well for the pluralism of our country,” he said.
The social media platform was with the posts criticizing the National Film Award for rewarding the film. Two years ago, beyond the release of the film, various organizations in Kerala called the Supreme Court for the ban. Although the Supreme Court and the Kerala High Court refused to release the film, the film’s makers had to remove their teaser after their claims about “32,000 women” from Kerala. He also changed the trailer to say that it was “a compilation of true stories of three young girls.” He also added a statement in the film stating that it was a story work.
The ruling left the Democratic Front and the opposition united in protest against the United Democratic Front film, in which most of the civil society also called it an attempt to spoil the state. Only the Bharatiya Janata Party openly supported the film in Kerala.
The film also created a striking of a video called ‘The Real Kerala Story’ from social media posts and videos, which depicts the stories of communal Amity from the state. Documentary filmmaker Sanu Kummil made a documentary Unknown Kerala stories To portray six stories of communal harmony from different corners of Kerala.
