Mumbai: Gulshan Devaiah and Anurag Kashyap will be seen in a new drama series ‘Bad Cop’. Directed by Aditya Datt and adapted by Rensil D’Silva, the project features Anurag Kashyap as the quirky, charming and dangerous villain Kazbe and Gulshan Devaiah as Karan, a fearsome and courageous police officer. The series also stars Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva and Aishwarya Sushmita in pivotal roles.
Talking about his character, Anurag Kashyap said, “I have created a lot of characters that are bloody, grotesque, dark and many other things, but believe it or not this was a difficult one for me to play. Kazbe is someone who doesn’t think too much before doing something, he just does it. He is a terrifying, eccentric, nefarious and the quintessential villain. I had to understand the intricacies of this character and make it my own. Being directed by Aditya Dutt was a great experience and collaborating with partners like Disney+ Hotstar and Fremantle India was incredible.”

Gulshan Devaiah said, “I had a lot of fun working on Bad Cop as it is a great entertaining show. I am excited as it is a very different kind of role for me. I have played a different kind of police officer in another show as Devilal, but here it is more of an entertaining kind of police officer. I was familiar with Aditya Dutt’s style as I have worked with him before, he is very straightforward and wants to make an entertaining, great show that people enjoy. The action was a bit difficult, especially the running, which challenged me as I am not used to doing action and I am not physically prepared for it.”
He also shared his experience of working with Anurag Kashyap. Gulshan said, “It was fun working with Anurag, who had only directed and produced my films before, but it was fun to do scenes and action with him. It was a great moment for me as I never thought I would be acting with him. I am looking forward to see how much people will enjoy my version of a filmy cop. Hopefully it will be fun for the audience as well, so I am very curious to know their reaction.”
‘Bad Cop’ will soon stream on Disney+ Hotstar.
