A scene from ‘Bando Stone and the New World’
Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino has officially released the trailer of his much-awaited movie. Bando Stone and the New World An abbreviated version of the trailer aired during advertisements for the event, but a full two-minute version was posted on Gambino’s YouTube account an hour earlier.

The film, which has yet to have a release date, stars Gambino as Bando Stone, a famous musician who wanders a desolate world. In this eerie, post-apocalyptic setting, Bando encounters a woman and her child. Together, they wander a landscape populated by giant squid and dangerous emu-like birds.
In addition to the film, Gambino is also set to release a soundtrack. Bando Stone and the New WorldIt’s part of his latest musical endeavor, which he hinted could be his final project under the Childish Gambino name. The journey began in April when he revealed plans for two new albums. The first is an updated version of his surprise release 3.15.20came out in May under its original title Atavista,
Following this announcement, Gambino has also shared the dates New World TravelA headlining tour began in August, covering North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
Gambino introduced the trailer immediately after presenting the award for Album of the Year to Killer Mike. During his introduction, he gave a candid speech criticizing the BET Awards for not recognizing his contributions enough. “I think I should get more BET Awards,” he said. “It’s the Black Entertainment Television Awards. How much more entertaining should I be?” His speech jokingly compared his number of BET Awards to other artists, which was an oversight in his eyes.
