Mumbai:Superstar Mohanlal joins Bollywood’s “Khiladi” for the trailer launch of “Barrows”, which marks the Malayalam star’s directorial debut.
Mohanlal welcomed Akshay at the launch event in Mumbai city. Mohanlal warmly welcomed the Bollywood hero. Later both of them posed in front of the camera and had a fun conversation.
The Bollywood star looked extremely attractive in a white shirt paired with khaki colored pants and sunglasses. While Mohanlal looked every bit handsome wearing a rust colored blazer paired with a white shirt and dark blue pants.
The Burrows is set to release worldwide on December 25 in 3D and multiple formats.
“Barrows” is a children’s fantasy based on his novel Barrows: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. The film also stars Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kalliroy Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon and Guru Somasundaram in other important roles.
Production of the film Barrows began in March 2021 and unit shooting took place in Kochi, Gao, Bangkok and Chennai, among other locations.
Talking about Akshay, he revealed on December 10 that he is excited to be on the sets with his favorite director Priyadarshan as he starts shooting for his next “Bhoot Bangla”, which is set to release on April 2, 2026. Ready to release on screens.
Akshay shared a new poster of the film on his Instagram and captioned it: “Today we start shooting our horror comedy #Bhootbungalow, so super excited to be on set with my favorite @priyadarshan.official. ”
“This double dose of fear and laughter will be ready for you on April 2, 2026! Until then, we wish you all the best,” he said.
Along with Akshay, actors Paresh Rawal, Asrani and Rajpal Yadav will be seen in filmmaker Priyadarshan’s upcoming horror comedy “Bhoot Bangla”.
The film is scheduled to begin production in early 2025 with a theatrical release planned for the end of the year. The casting process is still ongoing, with three female lead roles still to be cast.
Akshay has previously worked with Paresh in films like ‘Hera Pheri’, ‘Phir Hera Pheri’ and ‘Garam Masala’. The “Khiladi” star shared screen space with Rajpal in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” and “Bhagam Bhaag”. Asrani and the ‘Khel Khel Mein’ actor had worked together in ‘Khatta Meetha’.
On his 57th birthday on 9 September, Akshay announced that he was joining hands with director Priyadarshan once again after 14 years.
Akshay took to X, formerly known as Twitter, where he shared the motion poster of the film. In the picture, Akshay can be seen holding a bowl full of a black cat on his shoulder.
“Thank you for your love on my birthday year after year! Celebrate this year with the first look of ‘Bhoot Bangla’! I am very excited to be collaborating with Priyadarshan again after 14 years,” wrote the actor, who last worked with the filmmaker in 2010 film ‘Khatta Meetha’.

Akshay and Priyadarshan have given many blockbuster films together, including “Hera Pheri”, “De Dana Dan”, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa”, “Garam Masala” and “Khatta Meetha”.
