New Delhi: East Miss India, Miss Universe Runner-Up, and UN Sadly Embassy Ambassador Celina Jaitley reacted strongly to the Miss England Mill Mage competition and her shocking claims, stating that she felt her as a “prostitute”.
The Miss World participant accused the pageant of being exploited and further claimed that the participants were forced to spend time with the male sponsors of the incident.
In an interview with Gulf News, Jaitley, who first represented India in Puerto Rico, defended the Pageantry’s organization amid criticism. He said, “There is a fundamental misconception here. It is a beauty pageant, not an HR seminar.”
Jaitley further said, “We were clearly informed that the host country invests heavy resources to keep an incident in this scale together. There was not a single day in Puerto Rico when we were not participating in three to four incidents other than acute rehearsal. There was no time for anything, and we did all this with pride.”
He further said that it is normal for competition organizers to ask participants to wear clothes according to the incident.
“Each phenomenon was supported by sponsors, and yes, being asked to wear clothes according to the occasion is completely normal. It is part of being a competitor. After all, it is a beauty pageant, not HR seminar.”
Although he accepted the emotions of the maggi, about his demands to change the swimsuit round with CPR training, Jaitley said, “It is like a doctor who is entering a beauty competition and emphasizing surgery. It reflects a fundamental misconception of the platform he voluntarily recorded.
He also emphasized that pages have developed beyond traditional beauty criteria. He said, “Participating in many busyness, presenting yourself with poetry, and representing your country with dignity is not exploited – this is a lot of essence of international pageantry demands. It is not a service to gratitude; it is professionalism.”
The former beauty queen also expressed disappointment over the claims that oversee India’s legacy in beauty pageants. “India is the land of mythological beauty queens, and to look into baseless allegations, especially when the official footage and the statements of Miss World Chairperson Julia Morley, contradictors are deeply disappointing with the statements of Julia Morley. The truth matters.”
“Beauty Queens Mein -like … Celina Jaitley, Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, and Priyanka Chopra have helped to open India’s door for international recognition. We are not just beauty queens – we are economic revolutionaries.”
Miss England said that the competition made her feel like a “prostitute”, Jaitley said, “It is not only deeply aggressive – it is a careless abuse of language that assures women and disrespect millions of people who work in beauty and fashion industry.”
Millla Maggi became contestants before the United Kingdom exiting the pageant in 74 years.
